Welcome to the wall

I have a love of creativity matched only by my love of animals (and maybe tea).

We might not be able to invite bears, badgers and birds into our homes, but we can brighten our walls with equally beautiful art.

By the way, it’s upon the wilDWall.  I joined the D and the W together to make DWall. That’s me you see... Darren Wall.  I am a university lecturer by day and painter in the evenings and weekends.

I have been studying and doodling animals for as long as I have owned a pencil. I am fortunate enough to live in a country village with my wife, two daughters, 5 chickens and Bruce the Cockerel (featured in the gallery).

So this gallery of wild watercolours comes from this Wall to yours.

Prints are finished on 230gsm matt paper, individually signed and posted in hard back envelopes.  Available in 8"x10" and postcard format.

I use Winsor and Newton Pro Watercolour tube paints. I prefer to paint at 9x12” on Arches hot or cold pressed 300 gsm paper.

I use a range of brushes from Rosemary and Co. but lean towards a 1” flat, No. 14 and 8 round, No. 3 rigger and No.2 pointed. I often throw in a little white Gouache to finish off the highlights.
